Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Tuned By Perfommaster To Over 700hp
Compared to naturally-aspirated cars, those fitted with turbocharged or supercharged engines are significantly easier and cheaper to tune for improved performance.
Case at hand, the German tuning company Performmaster which unveiled its new software upgrade for the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG , drastically improving performance with one simple change.
In stock form, the twin-turbocharged 5.5-litre V8 engine of the outgoing E63 S delivers 585 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Those figures are enough to send the sports sedan to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a mere 3.6 seconds and onto an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). Remove the speed limiter, however, and a figure much closer to 200 mph (320 km/h) is achievable.
With the installation of Performmaster's PEC Tuning-Module, power rises dramatically to 700 hp while torque also increases to 738 lb-ft, much more than the next-generation E63. While no performance figures have been released for the car, a 0-62 mph in the low-3 second range seems and a top speed over the 200 mph seem like a safe bet.
Like many other tuning companies, Performmaster has opted against messing with the flowing yet aggressive design of the E63 AMG and have only fitted it with a set of simple and inoffensive five-spoke wheels.
