BMW 2016 M6 GT3



BMW has just started delivering 2016 M6 GT3 models around the world with Turner Motorsport in the United States the first to receive two units of the new racing car. Turner Motorsport will compete with its two M6 GT3 models in next year's IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Championship. Piloting the #97 car will be successful privateer BMW driver Markus Palttala as well as Michael Marsa. Meanwhile, the second M6 GT3 of Turner Motorsport will be driven by Bret Curtis and Jens Klingmann. The second private team to receive their two new M6 GT3s is Schubert Motorsport, based in Germany. They'll be fielding them in the ADAC GT Masters championship, of which they are the current title holders. Whereas the cars of Turner Motorsport will race at the 24 Hours of Daytona, the Schubert Motorsport ones will compete in the famed Nurburging 24 Hours. The final team to have received their brand-new racing BMWs over the weekend was Rowe Racing. They'll be competing in the Blancpain GT championship, which includes races like the Spa 24 Hours, Macau's FIA GT World Cup and the Nurburgring 24 Hours. The M6 GT3 itself, it has been designed to replace the Z4 GT3, and it is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 engine with 577 hp on tap.
