Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Gains S400
In between detailing the new E-Class generation and getting ready for the 2016 NAIAS, Mercedes-Benz has gifted the S-Class Coupe with a new entry-level version.
It is called the S400 4MATIC Coupe and it joins the already available S500, S500 4MATIC, AMG S63, AMG S63 4MATIC and AMG S65.
Under the hood, the model uses the same 3.0-liter (2,996cc) V6 gasoline engine as the entry-level SL400, rated at 367 PS (362hp) between 5,500-6,000rpm, and 500 Nm (369lb-ft) of torque at 1,800-4,500rpm. The 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) sprint takes 4.6 seconds and top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155mph).
The 3-pointed star says that average fuel consumption of the new entry-level S-Class Coupe is 8.3L / 100km (28.3mpg US) and the CO2 emissions stand at 193g/km.
Some of the tech highlights mentioned by Mercedes-Benz include the THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control with two zones, the COMAND Online multimedia system, Active Park Assist with PARKTRONIC, PRE-SAFE, Collision Prevention Assist Plus, LED Intelligent Light System, active light function, cornering light function, enhanced fog light function, Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus and AIRMATIC.
The sixth model in the S-Class Coupe lineup has a starting price of €99,960 ($109,300) in Germany.
